Okay Yokuslu sends message to Mikey Johnston as Celtic farewell sent after West Brom transfer
Okay Yokuslu has sent a message to West Brom winger Mikey Johnston after he said goodbye to boyhood club Celtic.
The new Albion signing, who returned to the club permanently for £3million on Deadline Day, posted a video compilation on Instagram (3 September) alongside a message of thanks to Celtic.
Johnston admitted to leaving his dream at Parkhead, where he had been since 2008, before making his return to The Hawthorns.
Yokuslu was one of the first to respond despite leaving for Trabzonspor this summer, writing: “Good luck my brother.”
Mikey Johnston seals West Brom transfer
The Baggies bringing Johnston back to The Hawthorns after his successful loan spell last season is a significant coup for Carlos Corberan, who fought off plenty of interest to re-sign him.
The £3m fee spent on Johnston is by far the Baggies’ most expensive deal of the summer transfer window [Lewis Cox, 28 August], and was helped by Yokuslu’s move to Trabzonspor at the end of July.

Yokuslu never looked likely to remain at The Hawthorns after his performances for club and country last season and completed a £1.35m switch back to his native Turkey following EURO2024.
However, it seemed equally fanciful that the club would be able to secure a deal for an in-demand Johnston either, with relegated sides Sheffield United and Burnley both having been keen to sign him [Pete O’Rourke, 21 August].
Johnston, however, is back in Baggies colours, and with Corberan’s side having made an electrifying start to the new season, adding the Republic of Ireland international to the mix has the potential to take them to the next level.
In other West Brom news, a former Baggies and England midfielder has praised the club for their transfer stance on one key player.
