Siobhan Hodgetts-Still is looking forward to a "special" meeting between West Brom Women and Wolves on Sunday (13 October).

The club announced [9 September] that the Black Country derby will be played at The Hawthorns rather than The Valley Stadium, following on from an impressive 4-0 win over Sporting Khalsa.

Hodgetts-Still will be seeking revenge after Wolves claimed a 2-0 win in the previous meeting at Molineux Stadium, looking to continue the good pre-season preparations and quick start to the campaign.

“It’s going to be another special occasion, nothing beats a local derby at The Hawthorns,” she said.

“There was a good crowd in for the Sporting Khalsa game and we had an amazing day, not just on the pitch but off of it, too.

"So come and get behind the girls again because your support means a lot to us, and really can make all the difference.”

West Brom Women v Wolves set for clash at The Hawthorns

Following the most recent defeat to their fierce rivals in the Northern Premier Division, the Baggies must continue their form if they are to get the better of Wolves on this occasion.

The two sides also faced off in the Birmingham Challenge Cup last season, with Wolves breaking hearts on penalties as Bec Thomas saved two spot-kicks to send her side through.

However, given the number of new exciting signings, such as Wolves' own Shan Turner, and former Cardiff City duo Rhianne Oakley and Seren Watkins, they must perform in front of the home crowd.

The passionate fans deserve to see their team win the Black Country derby, especially with so many young and hopeful fans turning up at The Hawthorns.

Hodgetts-Still's side will be flying high following the recent 4-0 win against Sporting Khalsa, and they must bring that form straight into the clash against their fierce Midlands rivals.
