West Brom fans all say same thing about Brandon Thomas-Asante after Coventry City scenes

West Brom fans were thrilled for Brandon Thomas-Asante after the ex-Albion striker scored again for Coventry City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.

Thomas-Asante, 25, netted for the second time in the competition this season when he put Coventry 1-0 up against Tottenham at the CBS Arena.

Unfortunately for the former Baggies man, his night would end in disappointment as Ange Postecolgou’s Spurs rallied late on to score two late goals and secure a 2-1 win.

Brandon Thomas-Asante nets again for Coventry City

Since leaving The Hawthorns to join Mark Robins’ side in the summer for a deal worth up to £3million, Thomas-Asante has failed to start a game in the Championship.

He’s come off the bench in each of Coventry’s five league games but he has been handed chances to shine in the Carabao Cup.

And it’s fair to say that the Ghana international has grasped those chances with goals in back-to-back games against Oxford United and Premier League giants Tottenham.

During his time at The Hawthorns, Thomas-Asante was an enigmatic figure. Off the pitch, his personality was infectious and that made him incredibly popular with certain fans. However, on the pitch, he struggled to score consistently and missed a host of golden chances to score.

Eventually, Thomas-Asante left the Black Country in August after 21 goals in 78 appearances for West Brom.

Still, some Albion fans hold the striker in high regard and many were pleased to see him hitting the back of the net for the Sky Blues on 18 September.

In other West Brom news, Carlos Corberan is expected to axe this midfield ace against Plymouth.
