Grady Diangana injury news emerges ahead of West Brom v Plymouth Argyle
Grady Diangana is now fully fit for West Brom and will be available to be selected against Plymouth Argyle, according to WBA Report.
The Baggies news outlet reported on their X account [19 September] that the forward has returned to training after recovering from a shoulder injury sustained in the 2-1 win against Stoke City.
Diangana has had to settle for a spot on the bench for Carlos Corberan at the start of the season and is ready to stake his claim for a starting place in the side after missing the last two fixtures.
Grady Diangana return is a welcome boost for West Brom
The 26-year-old was a revelation for West Brom last season, bagging seven goals and adding eight assists to help secure a Championship play-off finish.
However, despite his heroics last year, Diangana has lost his place to Tom Fellows, who is making the right-wing spot his own at the start of the season, earning high praise from his Baggies teammates.
Albion turned down advances from Ipswich Town for their 21-year-old forward [Football Insider] over the summer and, while his long-term future in the West Midlands is not entirely set in stone, January is a long time for Diangana to wait for regular minutes.
While the Congolese international can play on either flank, he will not find playing time any easier to come by on the left wing, with Mikey Johnston looking likely to start regularly following his deadline day signing from Celtic, while Karlan Grant is also pushing for inclusion.
With Jayson Molumby now a doubt to face Plymouth on the weekend, the news of Diangana’s return is a welcome one for West Brom.
There will be plenty of opportunities for the forward to impress Corberan throughout the season. However, a starting berth this weekend may be too soon, and another matchday on the Albion bench is the more likely possibility.
