Since arriving on loan from Sassuolo on 22 August, Racic has had to bide his time for minutes in Albion colours, with Corberan naming an unchanged starting XI for the first five league matches of the season.

Racic’s career has so far been hampered by injuries and long spells of barren form, having emerged with such potential at Valencia that he was linked with a big-money move to Manchester United in 2020.

As per the Serbian’s own admission, he now looks to be getting back to his best, and every Albion fan will be delighted that his ever-improving form is coming at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies remain top of the pile and are still unbeaten after six Championship matches, with Racic shaping up to be the kind of player who can carry the burden of promotion on his shoulders.
