West Brom fans react to Ousmane Diakite display v Sheffield Wednesday – ‘Never play him again’, ‘Disaster’
West Brom suffered their first Championship defeat of the season with a 3-2 loss against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday 28 September.
It was a frustrating day at Hillsborough for the Albion as the home side took a deserved 2-0 lead going into the interval.
The Baggies got one back through the inevitable Josh Maja before Alex Mowatt levelled the scores with a bouncing volley.
It was the home side who got the eventual winner as Anthony Musaba tapped home from close range just two minutes after Albion’s equaliser.
The opening goal was poor all around but particular criticism was levelled at Ousmane Diakite who was hooked at half time by Carlos Corberan.

Many fans were quick to respond to the update that the Mali international had been taken off during the break to be replaced by Mowatt.
One fan was particularly fuming about the 24-year-old’s performance saying: “Never play him again”.
Diakite has become a slight favourite of sorts at The Hawthorns which made his showing all the more disappointing for one fan who said: “Had to happen. Gutted for Diakite but that was a disaster”.
It is safe to say the ex-Hartberg ace starting at Hillsborough was a risk that didn’t pay off for Corberan.
Attentions now turn to the clash on Tuesday (1 October) against Middlesbrough where the Baggies will look to bounce back to winning ways.
