Shilen Patel has paid his respects to the West Brom fan who passed away in the defeat against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

The Baggies confirmed in an official statement on X on 28 September after news emerged a medical emergency had been declared at Hillsborough.

West Brom chairman Patel joined Baggies boss Carlos Corberan in offering his condolences to the family after the devastating news.

He said on X: "Heartbreaking news. My thoughts are with the family after such a sudden loss."

Times like these bring together the world of football, and it is beautiful to see the floods of messages from supporters and clubs around the world as the community comes together to mourn.

The Hawthorns will stand as one when Middlesbrough travels to the West Midlands next weekend to remember and give tribute to the supporter as the West Brom family come together as one.
