Tom Page in bid to buy Sheffield United after West Brom takeover failure
Tom Page has made a bid for Sheffield United after failing in a move to buy West Brom, according to The Sun on Sunday.
The newspaper reported on 29 September (page 55) that the Brit and his team have been pushing to purchase the Blades for eight months.
This comes after failed moves to purchase the Baggies prior to Shilen Patel’s takeover and fellow Championship outfit Preston North End.

Things could have been so different at The Hawthorns if Page had completed his bid to take over the club ahead of Shilen Patel.
The American businessman has been a breath of fresh air for the Albion which has helped to stabilise things on and off the pitch.
It has to be said that the work of Carlos Corberan has helped create a positive atmosphere around the club with results being consistently positive in recent weeks and months.
This sees the Baggies sitting top of the Championship despite suffering a defeat against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday (28 September).
Off the pitch, fans are happy with their current ownership given how transparent and supportive Patel has been since coming in.
The owner is consistently reacting to matches on social media and interacting with supporters which is always great to see.
There is a lot going right at The Hawthorns right now but could have been different if Page had come in.
