Jake Livermore shares West Brom verdict after what he has seen on Sky Sports
Jake Livermore believes Carlos Corberan has brought resilience to the West Brom squad in the Championship this season.
The Baggies started the season on fire, but have been hit by two losses against Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough in the past week.
Livermore insisted the Spaniard has built a solid squad packed with more energy at The Hawthorns after a summer packed with change.
Speaking live on Sky Sports News (1 October), Livermore said: “Carlos now has brought resilience to the club, he’s built a solid squad with youth and energy as well.
“I think they’ve got that great balance and I think it’ll just be a small stumbling block.”
West Brom to face Millwall next
The Baggies had a stellar start to the season, with a solid foundation set on clean sheets and a free-flowing attack, spearheaded by Josh Maja.
Over the last week, however, things have taken a turn for the worse.
While the game against Sheffield Wednesday can be deemed a one-off after multiple changes, their “dreadful” loss against Middlesbrough needs to be where this small blip stops.
Last season Corberan dragged his West Brom side into the playoffs and although he didn’t manage to quite gain Premier League promotion, the fact he even got them there in the first place was an achievement in itself.
The Baggies’ next game is against Millwall and three points are all that will be deemed acceptable.
Grady Diangana’s likely absence is a blow for the club, but Tom Fellows should be more than ready to step in after his initial rest against Boro last time out.
In other Baggies news, an update has emerged on Daryl Dike’s return after a long-term injury setback.
