West Brom ace Mason Holgate sends two-word message to Morgan Rogers after Aston Villa win v Bayern Munich

West Brom defender Mason Holgate has sent a two-word message to Morgan Rogers after Aston Villa won Bayern Munich 1-0 in their Champions League tie.

The striker posted an in-action photo of himself to Instagram (2 October) playing against Bayern after Champions League football came to Villa Park.

Holgate wrote, “Da Man” to the 22-year-old who’s having a stellar season in the top flight with three goal contributions across all competitions thus far.

Morgan Rogers has come on massively since West Brom

Rogers started his career with the Baggies until he was swiped up by Manchester City in 2019.

The striker then spent a few seasons on loan until he found a permanent home with Middlesbrough.

After a decent first half of the season for Michael Carrick’s men, Unai Emery then came in to take the Englishman off their hands in January and since then, he’s managed to come into his own.

While the youngster didn’t play a game for West Brom, it’s clear that he still has an affinity with the club as he sent a good luck message to former teammate Zac Ashworth following his move to Blackpool during the summer.

While Rogers has seemingly found his feet under Emery, the Baggies themselves are having a decent season.

Former West Brom player Jake Livermore stated that their recent losses against Boro and Sheffield Wednesday are just “small stumbling blocks” [Sky Sports News, 1 October].

Things can change in an instant in football of course but for now, Carlos Corberan’s men look to be well on their way to making the playoff places once again.
