West Brom ‘crisis’ rubbished as Aston Villa fan makes promotion admission
Dan Bardell doesn’t think West Brom are in crisis despite losing their last two matches in the Championship.
The Baggies have suffered back-to-back league defeats against Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough after going unbeaten in the opening six games.
This has seen Carlos Corberan’s side drop from the top of the table to fourth in a disappointing collapse in the past week.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell, who is an Aston Villa fan, has urged Albion fans to be calm and still expects them to earn a place in the Premier League at the end of the season.
Speaking exclusively to West Brom News, Bardell said: “I don’t think there’s anything for the fans to be worried about, it’s just the nature of the Championship.
“You can be on a brilliant run and then suddenly from nowhere, you lose a couple of games.
“I just don’t think it is a crisis for West Brom, they’ve had an excellent start to the season and I still expect them to go up with the players and manager that they’ve got.
“It is just a case of taking stock and regrouping, once they win another game they’ll go on a winning run again.“
West Brom Championship promotion still expected
It has been a surprisingly excellent start to the season for the Baggies after an up-and-down summer window which ultimately ended in success.
Corberan has brought in top players like Mikey Johnston and Uros Racic to add to the conversation at The Hawthorns.
The Spaniard has also gotten the best out of existing players like Josh Maja and Tom Fellows who have been in electric form to begin the campaign.
Despite a poor run of form in the past week, there is still plenty of positives to take forward through to the rest of the season which could spur the Albion on to promotion.
In other West Brom, Carlos Corberan has confirmed the injury status of one star ahead of the Millwall clash.
