Carlos Corberan desperate for Premier League job as West Brom claim made

West Brom manager Carlos Corberan will be “desperate” to manage in the Premier League one day, according to Don Goodman.

The Spaniard is fast approaching the second anniversary of his appointment at The Hawthorns and has worked wonders during that time.

Corberan’s work in initially dragging Albion away from relegation trouble to then competing for promotion has not gone unnoticed.

Southampton are the most recent top-flight club to be credited with an interest in the 41-year-old [Sunday Mirror], but Goodman believes West Brom are the best club for him right now.

“He will be desperate to be a Premier League manager,” Goodman told West Brom News. “His status is growing and growing and growing in the game and he has a squad capable of challenging at the top.

“It’s been a good start to the season overall and I think, while it might be tempting for him, he’s in the best place.”

Carlos Corberan will continue to attract Premier League interest

Corberan being touted as a contender for other jobs is very much the nature of the beast. When you are successful in your position, others – those with healthier budgets – will be sniffing around.

Thankfully, talk of possible interest from the likes of Leeds United and Leicester City came to nothing during the summer.

But this is the way it is going to be as long as Albion are in the higher echelons of the Championship table.

West Brom’s best hope is that Corberan guides the club into the Premier League this season and he will then have absolutely no reason to leave.

A failure to go up, though, and it could lead to yet more speculation with regards to his future.

As long as he remains at The Hawthorns, however, every supporter will continue to show their love to the Spaniard.

In other West Brom news, Goodman has laid out a “disaster” scenario at The Hawthorns.
