Carlos Corberan tweets his thoughts on West Brom 0-0 v Millwall, sends message to fans
Carlos Corberan will make the “necessary improvements” needed after West Brom dropped points to Millwall in a 0-0 draw at The Hawthorns on Saturday.
Albion dropped to fourth in the Championship as their winless run extended to three games against bogey team Millwall, who haven’t lost against the Black Country club since February 2020.
With the international break now in effect, Corberan is looking to rediscover the form that put his side top of the table just a couple of weeks ago.
Writing via his personal X account (5 October), Corberan said: “Unfortunately we didn’t achieve the results we wanted but we will use the break to make the necessary improvements to keep growing as a team.
“Thanks as ALWAYS to be behind us.”
West Brom need to find their Championship form again
The Baggies had a stellar start to the 2024/25 season and looked to be solid automatic promotion contenders.
While a place in the top six is still very likely, there’s no doubt the club would rather find themselves in the top two to avoid the stress of the playoffs once again.
West Brom now reside in fourth place, two points adrift of the league leaders, Sunderland.
Granted, none of Corberan’s players have played particularly well over the last week or so but after Kyle Bartley somehow managed to head one of the biggest chances of the game away from the goal, he got some stick from Steven Hermon and Daz Hale who were left rather perplexed.
It’s still early in the Championship season of course with less than 10 games being played so far which leaves West Brom with plenty of time to rectify their recent results.
And, as Jake Livermore said, if there’s one thing Corberan has brought to the team since his arrival, it’s resilience, which is almost certainly something they’ll need as the season goes on.
In other West Brom news, a Baggies ace has been hailed as “terrific” after what he did v Millwall.
