West Brom fans buzzing as Carlos Corberan drops new Daryl Dike update – ‘Woohoo’
West Brom fans have been left buzzing after Carlos Corberan shared a new Daryl Dike update at The Hawthorns.
The 24-year-old forward hasn’t made an appearance for the Baggies since February last year when he ruptured his Achilles tendon in a 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town in what was only his fifth game of the campaign.
But Corberan has now confirmed that the US international is now in training with Albions U21s side as he continues his rehabilitation and looks to make a return to full fitness at The Hawthorns [Express & Star, 11 October].
Daryl Dike injury update emerges at West Brom and The Hawthorns
While no timeframe has yet been put on the striker’s return to the first-team fold, supporters have been quick to voice their happiness on social media after it was confirmed Dike was on the road to recovery.
One supporter wrote: “Great news! He’s a great man and loyal to us hoping his recovery leads to great things on the pitch. Good Luck” while another said: “CMON big man”.
While it could still be a little while before we see Dike back to his best in Albion colours, it will be a massive boost to both the supporters and Corberan’s side to have the striker back in training in the coming weeks.
West Brom are slightly short of attacking options at this stage, with Josh Maja the only natural forward at Albion’s disposal, at least while Devante Cole appears to remain out of the first-team picture under Corberan.
Although getting Dike back to full fitness will be a massive step in the right direction, the Baggies need to ensure that they are able to keep the 24-year-old fit and firing for an extended period.
The last few years have seen the American international continuously break down with injury after injury and that isn’t good for either Dike or Albion.
