West Brom recieve boost from Erling Haaland after Torbjorn Heggem Norway call up

Dan Bardell believes West Brom star Torbjorn Heggem will benefit from playing with Erling Haaland while on international duty with Norway.

The 25-year-old received his maiden call-up for his country for the current international break but is yet to make his debut after being an unused substitute against Slovenia.

This clash saw the Manchester City phenomenon score a hattrick after being spotted battling with the Baggies defender in training.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell thinks that playing with and against the Premier League top scorer will only improve him as a player.

Speaking exclusively to West Brom News, Bardell said: “Players enjoy going and playing for their country.

When you play for one of the smaller countries but there is a genuine world-class talent on the ranks, I think it makes it even more exciting for players to go away to learn and be around them.

I think it can only be a good thing for Heggem and West Brom, being around someone like Haaland can only help him to improve.

Torbjoern Heggem to receive boost from Erling Haaland

The defender has been superb under Carlos Corberan since confirming a move from Brommapojkarna over the summer.

Heggem has become a fan favourite at The Hawthorns as the towering defender has shown his qualities despite coming in as a somewhat unknown quantity.

It is a testament to the Baggies man that he has received a call-up to the Norway national team, just three months into his spell in the Midlands.

There is hope that playing with and against the likes of Haaland and Alexander Sørloth will only make him a better player, to the benefit of Corberan and the Baggies.
