West Brom fans did not hold back after the Women's side lost 8-0 against Wolves Women in the Black Country Derby at The Hawthorns on Sunday (13 October).

The Baggies have struggled in the early stages of the season, with their most recent result prior to this one being a 2-1 defeat against Hull City Ladies (6 October).

The derby at home posed an opportunity for Albion to bounce back from that loss but the result was far from that, conceding eight against their bitter rivals.

The mood around The Hawthorns wasn't particularly cheerful at the full-time whistle, reflecting the shocking result that supporters had to sit through in one of the most important games of the season.

Fans were left frustrated even during the game as one urged the Baggies to "just forfeit at this point. I think it would hurt less".

This came after the final goal of the afternoon from Wolves, with another fan labelling the performance from Siobhan Hodgetts' side "shocking" and "the worst I've ever seen".

There was a lack of chances created throughout and the back line was far too easy to breach on a number of occasions.

This led one fan to say the performance was "beyond embarrassing and utterly unacceptable".

It is safe to say this derby day defeat hasn't gone down well which is fair enough considering the Baggies conceded eight at home.

Considering how well things are going on the pitch for Carlos Corberan and his men's senior side, the women's side simply need to perform better on a more consistent basis.
