West Brom and Wolves fans argue over Liquidator chant – ‘It’s ours’, ‘no contest’

West Brom and Wolves fans have been arguing over which club the ‘Liquidator’ chant belongs to, with both camps having strong opinions.

Carlos Corberan’s men have had a stellar start to their season but the same can’t be said for their women’s side as they managed to lose 8-0 to their Black Country rivals at The Hawthorns on Sunday (13 October).

That is not the highest-profile meeting between the fierce rivals this year, though, as they also met in an FA Cup tie at The Hawthorns in January – a game overshadowed by events off the field.

Who does the Liquidator chant belong to?

FanHub (13 October) asked this very question via X, with many teams in English football having an affinity with it – Chelsea being another of them.

The replies were full of West Brom and Wolves supporters, with one Wanderers fan saying “It’s ours” and adding a black and orange heart after his statement, while a Baggies fan replied: “Albion all day long”.

This will no doubt be an argument that carries on for years to come with both sets of fans having differing opinions.

West Brom News picks out some of the best responses below:

Although a division separates the men’s sides right now, if things pan out the way they have been going in the early stages of the campaign, it could well be that they swap leagues come May.

Regardless of what division the sides find themselves in, the ‘Liquidator’ debate will not end anytime soon.
