Carlos Corberan reveals his stance on quitting West Brom amid exit speculation
Carlos Corberan has revealed that he would be “very, very happy” to extend his stay at West Brom after rumours of interest in him from elsewhere.
The Spaniard had led his West Brom side to the top of the table earlier this season. However, a recent downturn in form has seen the Baggies drop down to a still-respectable fourth, just two points from league leaders Sunderland.
Corberan’s performance at The Hawthorns has seen him linked with various jobs elsewhere in England and he’s now discussed his future in an interview with Birmingham Mail on 16 October.
He said: “One thing that makes England a special country in terms of football, there are a lot of clubs, massive clubs. What makes me feel proud is that I am at one of these big British football clubs. It is always our dream, and never it can change, to put this club where we want to put it.
“I can only tell you that making a career in this club will be one thing that would make me happy – to extend my career in this club. It would make me very, very happy.”
Carlos Corberan can achieve promotion at West Brom
Despite a three-game winless run, West Brom have started the season well and certainly demonstrated the credentials of a promotion-winning team however consistency is key.

One player who has thrived under the Spaniard this season is Josh Maja who has scored seven in his opening nine games. The striker has been in excellent form since the season began and is a big reason as to why the Baggies find themselves where they are.
If West Brom can get back to the form they showcased in the early stages of the season, they can certainly be up there come the end of the campaign and January could play a huge part in achieving that.
Since acquiring control of the club, Shilen Patel has demonstrated his ambitions for the club going forward but also signalled a change in approach when it comes to players at the club.
That ambition will be tested in January when arrivals could make or break West Brom’s season.
In other West Brom news, Simon Watts is surprised that Carlos Corberan has not been linked with more jobs in the Premier League after the positive start at West Brom this season.
