Carlos Corberan shares ‘Great Frustration’ after West Brom v Oxford United draw
Carlos Corberan shared his frustrations after West Brom drew 1-1 against Oxford on Saturday 19 October.
The Baggies visited the Kassam Stadium in the Championship and were ahead for most of the game courtesy of a brilliant Karlan Grant strike at the half-hour mark.
However, in the dying moments, Dane Scarlett equalised for the Yellows from a long throw-in, which left a bitter taste, and the Spanish manager made his disappointment known at full-time on Sky Sports.
“I think in extra time we had in a couple of moments possibilities to make passes from a throw-in or a free kick,” he said.
“We started to give the ball to the opponent’s keeper, and when you give the ball to the opponent, always they can have the option to attack you.
“Frustrated, of course, great frustration, but we need to improve from the competitiveness level, game management and game understanding.”

West Brom fans will relate to how Corberan is feeling after that draw, as they could’ve gone top of the table before the afternoon games.
However, in the final minutes, the lack of concentration at the back led to all the excellent work the team had done before being undone.
Grant has had somewhat of a renaissance this season, with the 27-year-old starting in nine of the last 10 league games for the Baggies, scoring two goals.
Unfortunately, his strike wasn’t enough for the team to take the three points back to The Hawthorns.
Next, West Brom will travel to Blackburn on 23 October before hosting Cardiff City on 26 October in what will be a busy few days for the Albion.
Hopefully, the Baggies will be able to get over the missed opportunities in the Oxford game and set their sights on the upcoming matches to get back to winning ways.
