West Brom fans rage over ‘insane’, ‘atrocious’ incident v Blackburn as Sky Sports footage emerges
West Brom fans have been left feeling “robbed” after Darnell Furlong wasn’t awarded a penalty in their Championship draw against Blackburn Rovers.
The Baggies shared the points with Rovers on Wednesday (23 October) as their clash ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
Furlong was shoved to the ground in Blackburn’s box by Todd Cantwell but referee John Busby failed to award Carlos Corberan’s men with a penalty.
Darnell Furlong has been solid for West Brom this season
Furlong’s stay at The Hawthorns was recently extended thanks to his performances across the season so far.
The right-back has been a first-team regular for West Brom this term with the 28-year-old starting all 11 of the Baggies’ Championship games.
Many fans were left outraged by Busby’s on-pitch decision with one fan saying “Albion being robbed again. Shocker,” while another wrote, “Stonewall penalty that is.”

An extra three points to add to their tally would have been an excellent result for the Baggies, however, it evidently wasn’t meant to be.
Corberan’s men still find themselves battling for automatic promotion despite Burnley, Sunderland and Leeds United all fighting for the same thing.
It’ll by no means be an easy task but with the current crop of players at the club, there hasn’t been a better chance for West Brom to have a real go at the top two spots.
The fact Furlong didn’t get a penalty should most definitely be questioned but, right now, the Baggies’ focus should turn towards their next Championship game against Cardiff City on 26 October where they should come away with all three points and increase the pressure on those above them.
