West Brom fans exhausted as new Daryl Dike update emerges – ‘It’s over’, ‘Waste of time’
West Brom supporters have been left exhausted after a brand-new Daryl Dike injury update emerged at The Hawthorns.
Reports had suggested that the Baggies striker had picked up a new hamstring injury in training having been ruled out for the entirety of the season so far because of an Achilles injury picked up last term [DOOD, 25 October].
Speaking in a press conference ahead of Albion’s Championship showdown with Cardiff City on Saturday (26 October), Carlos Corberan did confirm the news but insisted it was nothing unusual [Lewis Cox, 25 October].
What has happened to West Brom striker Daryl Dike at The Hawthorns?
Dike’s last match in Albion colours came back in February as Corberan’s side picked up an excellent point in a 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town and it did seem as though the American forward was finally getting back to his best.
However, it looks as though the 24-year-old will have to wait a little longer for his much-anticipated return to The Hawthorns and the update has clearly disappointed Albion fans.
Taking to social media one supporter wrote: “Love the guy man but it’s over” while another said: “Waste of time let’s face it. Frustrating for the player but great pay cheque”.
It was only natural that Dike was going to encounter these sorts of issues after such a long spell on the treatment table.
Very rarely do players ever return from a major injury and immediately hit the ground running without any other minor problems cropping up to delay their recovery ever-so-slightly.
Hopefully, it won’t be too long until Baggies fans get to see the 24-year-old back out on The Hawthorns turf. Corberan could certainly do with the extra option at the top end of the field to ease the reliance on Josh Maja at the top end of the field.
