Caleb Taylor is clearly fighting for a spot in the West Brom starting XI despite not playing his football at The Hawthorns this season.

The 21-year-old has been plying his trade in League One with Wycombe Wanderers since joining in the summer, and so far has hit the ground running at Adams Park.

Building a solid partnership with 22-year-old Joe Low, Taylor has already racked up nine appearances for the club, with seven of them coming as starts in the league.

With Wycombe now unbeaten in League One since a 3-2 defeat to Birmingham City in August, Taylor could be dreaming of leading his loan team to promotion, and Corberan must be keeping an eye.

Only Birmingham are ahead of the Wanderers in the League One table, even going one point ahead of high-flyers Wrexham with a game in hand.

Caleb Taylor to earn place in West Brom starting XI?

Taylor's future will likely depend on whether Corberan can lead the Baggies to Premier League promotion this season, with the defender needing to gain more experience in that case.

Most of the 21-year-old's appearances have come in League One so far, having also been on loan with Cheltenham Town and Bolton Wanderers.

However, many fans will feel that the talented defender cannot make the difficult step up to senior football at The Hawthorns unless Corberan is brave enough to give him an opportunity.

With just 10 first-team appearances to his name for the Baggies, he will be hoping to join the squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, and there is little argument to be made against that decision.

If Taylor continues to impress at Adams Park and can keep his spot in the starting XI, Corberan really has no excuse not to utilise him back at The Hawthorns.
