Sam Parkin predicts outcome in ‘Horrible’ West Brom fixture v Luton Town

Sam Parkin predicts West Brom to win 2-1 against Luton Town in the Championship.

The Hatters are set to welcome the Baggies in the league on 1 November, with both sides currently not in the best of form.

Rob Edwards’ Luton side seemed to have found some rhythm before surrendering a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 to Coventry City last time out.

Carlos Corberan’s men have recently struggled to churn results out, with the side winless in their last six league matches, but Parkin believes they can end that run against Luton.

“One of the toughest this week, I think this could be all three outcomes,” he said to journalist Benjamin Bloom on his YouTube channel (30 October).

“I can kind of see in my mind’s eye Luton making it horrible, Friday night atmosphere, replicating what they did against Watford. The performance against Sunderland was good as well.

“Something tells me West Brom might click in this one on telly. I’m going for a 2-1 away win. I just got a sneaky feeling this could be West Brom’s night.”

West Brom desperate for win over Luton Town

The Baggies have struggled in their quest for victories in the last few games, and the lack of prolificity up front isn’t helping.

Josh Maja is the club’s leading goalscorer in the current campaign, but after his quick start, scoring a hat-trick against QPR, the Nigerian has fizzled out a bit.

Daryl Dike’s absence from the team is not helping matters either, and the striker picked up another frustrating injury [DOOD, 25 October], leaving fans wondering when they’ll be able to see him back on the pitch.

What is encouraging, though, is the team’s defensive record, with Torbjorn Heggem being an excellent addition to the backline.

It wasn’t long ago that Luton were plying their trade in the Premier League, so it would be remiss of the Hawthorns faithful to take them lightly.

Corberan has shown his astuteness since taking charge of West Brom, and it won’t be long before the Spaniard finds a way to bring the team out of the rut they find themselves in.

Whether that will be at Kenilworth Road remains to be seen.

In other West Brom news, the Baggies have eyed a name familiar to Corberan for a January loan.
