Corberan set for West Brom January rethink as winner named in Lewis O’Brien transfer race
West Brom are going to have to turn their attention away from Lewis O’Brien in January as the Nottingham Forest midfielder is set to sign for LAFC permanently, according to reports.
The Baggies, alongside many other English clubs, had been linked with a move for the former Huddersfield Town man in January [TEAMtalk, 30 October).
However, according to a recent report from Alan Nixon (3 November), the midfielder is now set to stay in America.
The 26-year-old has had plenty of interest shown in him over the last week or so but it now seems that he’s happy to stay in the MLS.
O’Brien would have been a stellar addition to Carlos Corberan’s ranks but evidently, it wasn’t meant to be.
West Brom and Carlos Corberan need to get back to winning ways
The Baggies had a solid start to the season but over the last month or so, things haven’t gone quite to plan.
Corberan’s men are winless in their last seven Championship clashes and are slowly moving further down the table.
They are currently sixth in the second tier and find themselves eight points adrift of league leaders, Sunderland.
While sixth place might not seem all that bad for the Baggies, after their brilliant start to the season, the recent downturn is obviously a cause for concern.

O’Brien’s arrival would have no doubt helped shore things up in the centre of the park but now that’s seemingly no longer an option, it remains to be seen who Corberan goes for next.
But, until another target is found and brought in, players such as Alex Mowatt will have to try and re-find their form and get the Baggies back up the table before it becomes too late.
