Hull City make Tim Walter sack decision before West Brom showdown

Tim Walter retains the backing of Acun Ilicali ahead of Hull City’s Championship clash with West Brom on Sunday, according to Baz Cooper.

The journalist reported via HullLive on Wednesday (6 November) that the under-fire manager is expected to be in the dugout for the Tigers at the MKM Stadium on 10 November.

This is despite fans chanting for Walter to be sacked as Hull City succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Oxford United on Tuesday (5 November.)

Things are not looking good for Hull City, who sit seventeenth in the Championship table after failing to win in their last six games.

With Walter now under increasing pressure, West Brom’s trip to the MKM this weekend could be coming at the right time for Carlos Corberan.

However, the Spanish tactician has his problems to worry about. The Baggies are notably winless in seven games and have dropped from first to sixth since 1 October.

The streak could extend to eight games if West Brom fail to beat promotion contenders Burnley at The Hawthorns on Thursday (7 November).

The Albion hoped to return to winning ways against Luton Town at the weekend after taking the lead via Josh Maja, but a 60th-minute goal from Tahith Chong saw the game end in a 1-1 draw.

With the Baggies still sitting within seven points off the top two, Corberan is not under as much pressure as his Hull City counterpart, but he will be keen to set things straight as soon as possible.

In other West Brom news, the Baggies defence is down to bare bones after another player missed training on Tuesday, 5 November.
