Carlos Corberan must keep close eye on Ben Cisse after latest West Brom development

Carlos Corberan would be foolish not to keep one eye on West Brom teenager Ben Cisse as the Under-21s goalkeeper continues to impress.

While it has been a rather difficult season for the young Baggies so far, and the 19-year-old shot-stopper conceding 17 goals in five Premier League 2 appearances, he is gaining plenty of valuable experience.

Despite the number of shots being rocketed past him, he is clearly doing something right after being called up to England’s Elite League squad for another consecutive camp [Official website].

He has yet to make his debut for the Young Lions, who are now set to face Germany and Poland during the international break, and this could be a brilliant chance for him to get onto the pitch.

England are currently sitting at the top of their table, winning three and drawing one, and the manager might be able to afford to switch the squad up at the SMH Community Stadium on Friday 15 November.

Carlos Corberan to keep eye West Brom teenager Ben Cisse

To be involved in an international set-up on a regular occasion is not something to look over, and Corberan must keep that in mind when it comes to his young goalkeeper.

Of course, Alex Palmer is the first-choice ‘keeper at The Hawthorns and will not be removed from the starting XI anytime soon, but Joe Wildsmith could welcome the challenge of a youngster.

Promoting Cisse to the first-team squad could really enhance his development, working with talents far beyond the academy set-up, and learning from one of the best goalkeepers in the Championship.

Palmer is currently tied first for the most clean sheets in the division this season, alongside Michael Cooper and Illan Meslier, while he also claimed the award last season.

Corberan should certainly consider bumping the teenage goalkeeper up to the next level, especially if he continues to prove himself enough to earn international youth call-ups.

In other West Brom news, Joe Gelhardt could be the perfect transfer for the Baggies as a Leeds United exit revelation emerges.
