West Brom told to sign new forward amid ‘massive problem’ for Carlos Corberan

Dan Bardell believes West Brom should sign a forward before a defender despite Carlos Corberan having various injury concerns to deal with.

The Baggies are keen to add a centre back to their squad on a loan deal in January to help cover their defensive crisis [DOOD].

This is necessary with Paddy McNair joining Semi Ajayi and Kyle Bartley on the treatment table at The Hawthorns.

Despite this, Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has urged Albion to sign a forward to cover for their lack of goals ahead of a defensive signing.

Speaking exclusively to West Brom News, Bardell said: “They’ve got problems at centre back certainly.

Unfortunately, leaking goals hasn’t been a massive problem, it’s been scoring them at the other end that’s eluded them in recent weeks.

Centre back is an area that they need to address with a loan or a cheap move, I’m sure they’ll do that.

They’re lacking goals and you don’t win games without goals and West Brom aren’t scoring goals so that’s something they need to sort as well.

West Brom urged to sign forward ahead of defender in January

The Baggies are in a frustrating run of form which has seen them draw their last five games in a row.

As annoyed as fans may be with this, it has to be considered that the injury concerns are taking their toll in the back line with so many key players missing.

Although this may be the case, bringing in a forward to provide competition for Josh Maja may prove to be a decision that helps Corberan’s side move towards promotion.
