Carlos Corberan sends message to West Brom fans after milestone win v Hull City
Carlos Corberan has sent a message to the West Brom fans after securing a 2-1 win against Hull City on Sunday.
The Spaniard has now overseen 100 matches as the Baggies manager, notching 45 wins in that time and only 30 losses, seeing him go unbeaten in 70 per cent of his games.
Goals from Karlan Grant and Josh Maja saw the Baggies rush into a two-goal lead at the MKM Stadium on 10 November, with Joao Pedro’s goal only a consolation for the Tigers.
Taking to X [10 November], Corberan wrote: “Very proud we were able to achieve a win for the fans in my 100th game as head coach of this great club.”
West Brom claim much-needed win v Hull City
Grant and Maja seemed to hit their strides at the perfect time for the Baggies, with Corberan’s men securing six consecutive draws in the Championship after back-to-back losses against Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough.
Despite the run of poor form, the Baggies still remain in the play-off spots, just six points behind league leaders Sunderland and will feel they have every chance of securing promotion this season.
With clashes against Norwich City, Sunderland, Sheffield United and Coventry City coming up, their determination will be truly tested, but if anyone can get them through it, it is Corberan.
The Spaniard, after losing a handful of important players during the summer, is working on a rather tight budget and is still keeping his side in contention for playing Premier League football next term.
He deserves the love and respect of the fans, and you can always see how much a victory means to him after putting so much effort into the campaign so far.
While there are parts of the football that still need improving, the fans were able to travel home from Hull with a smile on their face, having won all three points.
