Republic of Ireland fans hailed Mikey Johnson after the West Brom star assisted the winner against Finland in the Nations League.

Aviva Stadium hosted the Eagle-owls on 14 November, and the 25-year-old was involved as Evan Ferguson headed home in the 1-0 win.

The winger was immense for Carlos Corberan on 10 November against Hull City in the Championship, providing an assist in the 2-1 win, and continued his exploits with his national team.

Mikey Johnston takes West Brom form to Ireland

Johnston has taken his form into the international break and has given the Boys in Green something to cheer for, with one fan writing on X: "Mikey Johnston is magic."

Another commented: "GOAT Mikey Johnston is cooking again."

It's safe to say that the Republic of Ireland fans were pleased with the 25-year-old's performance against Finland.

Back with West Brom, Johnston has had to fight for his place in the team, with Karlan Grant ahead of him in the pecking order, and rightly so, as the 27-year-old has found his feet again at the Baggies.

The Irishman has been relegated to just three starts in the league this season, but if he continues to put in such displays, then Corberan will have no choice but to give the 25-year-old more opportunities.

West Brom got their first win in nine matches after beating Hull, and the Baggies are set to take on Norwich on 23 November after the international break.

Fans will want to see Johnston remain consistent when he makes his way back to West Midlands and hope the Ireland international doesn't pick up an injury in the coming days.
