Burnley and West Brom lead the way, Leeds United bottom as new attendance figures shared

West Brom trail only Burnley in the table showcasing Championship attendance figures in comparison to their respective populations.

The Baggies have an average attendance of 24,667 (Football Web Pages), which is the ninth-highest in the Championship, but their attendance to population ratio is the second highest to Burnley.

According to FanHub, 24.13 per cent of West Brom’s population are in attendance for their home Championship matches, compared to 25.57 per cent for Burnley.

Perhaps surprisingly, Leeds showcase a significantly smaller 4.46 per cent and are bottom of this particular list.

West Brom supporters deserve success

While West Brom aren’t necessarily the biggest club in the division, it is equally fair to say that they have one of the most passionate fanbases among it.

That is only demonstrated by the above numbers, showcasing how important the club is to people from the area.

Under Carlos Corberan, the glory days of West Brom don’t seem too far away and ambitions of a Premier League return will continue until the very end of the campaign.

As it stands, the Baggies sit just six points behind the leading duo of Sunderland and Sheffield United, with several other teams in close proximity.

After the recent victory against Hull, supporters will be hoping their side have put their wobble behind them as they head into what is a hectic Christmas schedule with plenty of points up for grabs.

Perhaps these coming months will really indicate how far or close the Baggies actually are to being able to compete at the top of the Championship and reach their ultimate goal of promotion.

In other West Brom news, Carlos Corberan has been dealing with multiple defensive injuries, with Semi Ajayi and Kyle Bartley on the sidelines.
