West Brom fans react to Jayson Molumby incident v England – ‘Embarrassment’
West Brom fans were left in raptures after Jayson Molumby was labelled as an “embarrassment” during the Republic of Ireland’s 5-0 loss to England on Sunday.
The 25-year-old was booked just before the half-time whistle following an altercation with England captain Harry Kane and Kyle Walker at Wembley on 17 November.
The former Brighton academy graduate was criticised by Roy Keane after the incident, with the former Manchester United captain stating on the ITV broadcast [17, November, 17:57] “I don’t like this kind of play-acting. I know Kane gets a yellow card, but why is [Molumby] holding his head? I don’t like this.”

The midfielder has also been blasted by Baggies supporters on social media after the incident, with one fan writing on X: “What’s Molumby doing? Embarrassment.”
Another commented: “No idea what Molumby got booked there for but it was inevitable that he was going to get a yellow at some point.”
Molumby has matured under the management of Carlos Corberan becoming a key player for the Albion as they seek a return to the Premier League.
He was involved in a controversial fracas in pre-season during a friendly against RCD Mallorca and he will need to avoid losing his cool as his side seek to secure a play-off berth at the end of the season.
There is an element of bite needed, especially in a hostile environment like the Championship but Molumby needs to find the right balance.
The Irishman has appeared in 12 games in the Championship so far this season, with nine starts and one goal.

West Brom and Molumby return to Championship action on 23 November against Norwich City at The Hawthorns, with three points wanted after the break.
In other West Brom news, Corberan makes an admission about Callum Styles and gives his verdict on Torbjorn Heggem.
