Carlos Corberan called ‘Mad’ as West Brom player drops new verdict
Fenton Heard has hailed Carlos Corberan and believes the West Brom manager is unlike others in the game.
The 20-year-old is currently out on loan at National League North outfit Rushall Olympic from the Baggies after recently signing a new one-year contract at the club.
Currently in the sixth tier of English football, the midfielder spoke to the Express & Star [19 November] about Corberan and gave an enthusiastic verdict about the Spaniard.
“He’s different, he’s mad. He’s football-mad. There is no one else you want as your gaffer. He is on it – on the ball 24/7,” Heard said.
“He is the bloke that you want as your manager because he’s going to improve you.”
Carlos Corberan has changed the tide at West Brom
Corberan has brought Albion back to relevance in terms of challenging for the play-offs spots and potentially making their way back to the Premier League.
After taking over, the Spaniard has overseen an upward trajectory at The Hawthorns, taking them to the play-off semi-finals last season, where they lost to Southampton.
West Brom won promotion to the English top flight for the 2020/21 season but immediately got relegated back into the Championship following an underwhelming campaign.
Subsequently, Valerien Ismael, Steve Bruce, and Richard Beale tried to take the team back up, but their efforts were in vain.

With Corberan, it finally feels like the Baggies have a realistic opportunity of attaining promotion, and the 41-year-old has managed to change the mood around The Hawthorns.
After six back-to-back draws in the league, West Brom finally got a win over Hull City on 10 November.
The Baggies are fifth in the table at the moment and are where they need to be to achieve their dream at the end of the campaign.
In other West Brom news, Corberan may have a difficult decision to make regarding Caleb Taylor in January.
