West Brom blow after what Norwich City manager Thorup has said today
Carlos Corberan has received a blow ahead of West Brom’s game against Norwich City this weekend as it has been confirmed Angus Gunn is available for selection.
After the goalkeeper was forced off in his side’s 4-0 victory against Hull City last month, the Canaries haven’t won a single game in his absence.
While Johannes Hoff Thorup has not confirmed whether Gunn will be straight back into the side, his comments about his return were positive as he confirmed at a press conference on Thursday (21 November), as per Pink Un, that “Gunn is available”.
Thorup added: “He’s an important player for us; he’s an important player for the group. I think obviously before the injury he was performing at a high level.
“He’d just come from that very, very good performance in Derby, played the first half of the home game against Hull, but was performing well. So it was not good for anyone to have that injury. It’s good to have him back.”
Return of Angus Gunn bad timing for West Brom
Though West Brom are not in bad form at the minute, Corberan will surely feel some disappointment seeing the news that his opponents have a big boost going into the game.
Since the goalkeeper’s injury, the Canaries have failed to win a game and have conceded 12 goals in the six matches they have played. Therefore, it’s not surprising to see Thorup feeling positive about the return of his first-choice man in goal.

Meanwhile, the Baggies have been struggling to score recently with only four goals in their previous six games. They will be eager to get three points from this game as they look to maintain their drive for the play-offs in this campaign.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Scotsman straight back into the Norwich starting line-up this weekend, but Corberan will be eager to see his strikers – including one of the Championship’s hottest players – deliver on the pitch and not let his opponent’s boost play against his own side negatively.
In other West Brom news, one loan player has been struck by an injury which could mean the end of his loan spell.
