West Brom slammed over ‘disastrous move’ for one of their highest-earners
Dan Bardell has slammed West Brom for the signing of Daryl Dike after he suffered another injury setback.
The 24-year-old has suffered from multiple fitness concerns since joining the Baggies from Orlando City but now looks set for another lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The USMNT international suffered a hamstring injury in October [DOOD] while Dr Rajpal Brar told West Brom News that the striker could be absent until the new year.
After signing Dike for £7million [Daily Mail], Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist has criticised Albion given how little he has contributed in over two years in the West Midlands.
Speaking exclusively to West Brom News, Bardell said: “He’s done very little of note since he’s been there, he just can’t stay fit.
“I would imagine that he’s at the higher end of their wage structure as well so it’s been a move from start to finish that hasn’t worked for either party.
“They would love to get something out of him, goals have been a problem at times this season.
“This is just the latest chapter in what has been a bit of a disastrous move.“
West Brom slammed for Dayrl Dike signing
It isn’t necessarily the fault of anyone that this signing hasn’t worked out for the ex-Barnsley loanee but regardless, the outlay on him must lead to some criticism.
The Baggies haven’t been able to splash the cash in recent years but still did on the American striker but he has only been able to register 32 appearances for the club.
It has to be said that his second season at the club, Dike scored seven in 23 Championship appearances which was certainly a positive return.

This just hasn’t been maintained on a regular basis due to injury which just leads supporters to question, what if?
In other West Brom news, one star is set for a scan on Monday as a fresh injury worry emerges.
