West Brom fans react to Corberan links to Leicester job – ‘Leave us alone’
Carlos Corberan being linked to the Leicester City job left many West Brom fans tired of seeing their manager tipped for an exit.
Guillem Balague reported that the Albion boss is among the favourites to succeed Steve Cooper at Leicester after he was sacked with the Foxes sitting 16th in the Premier League table.
Albion, meanwhile, are sixth in the Championship following a strong start to the campaign, albeit their 2-2 draw with Norwich City on Saturday extended a run of just one win in their last 10 matches.
West Brom fans tell Leicester to back off from Carlos Corberan
Given the transformational effect that Corberan has had during his two-and-a-half-year spell at The Hawthorns, it’s hardly surprising to see Albion fans steadfastly wanting their manager to stay put.
In response to a post on X by DOOD (25 November) concerning Corberan’s standing in Leicester’s preferred pecking order, one supporter asked: “Will Leicester ever leave us alone?”
Another followed along the same lines, wondering why Corberan is so frequently “linked (with) or the favourite to join another club” – with further comments simply telling Leicester “hands off”.
Other supporters acknowledged that Corberan’s chances of leaving The Hawthorns have been damaged by the Baggies’ poor form of late, with one saying there is “no chance” Leicester would try to poach him.
One fan went even further, saying that off the back of winning just once in 10 games, some of which were winnable, Corberan’s future is more “a question of whether our board keeps him”.
Another fan agreed with the view that Leicester would likely hire Graham Potter or David Moyes ahead of Corberan, saying that Corberan “needs a degree of success” before he can make the step up.
The sentiment that Corberan is running out of time at Albion himself was reflected in a sarcastic manner by another supporter, who said with tongue-in-cheek that it would be “terrible” if he left for Leicester.
