Carlos Corberan willing to quit West Brom after new Leicester update

Carlos Corberan would be willing to leave West Brom mid-season if he’s offered the managerial role at Leicester City, according to GiveMeSport.

It was reported on 26 November that with Corberan still being a “leading contender” to succeed Steve Cooper at the King Power Stadium, the Albion boss is increasingly keen on the job.

While Ruud van Nistelrooy and Lee Carsley remain among the favourites to fill the vacancy, Corberan is seen as the front-runner and would even be open to leaving West Brom during the current campaign.

West Brom must do all they can to keep Carlos Corberan

Leicester being linked with poaching Corberan from The Hawthorns is fast becoming a Groundhog Day-like situation for Baggies fans, the Spaniard’s growing stock in the game makes such reports no surprise.

Albion fans, while acknowledging the hit-and-miss run his side are currently on, are largely united in their hopes of keeping Corberan at the club for the foreseeable future given the turnaround he’s overseen.

While the Baggies are currently on a bizarre run of just one win in 11 – albeit featuring just two defeats and eight draws from their past nine – it’s clear that Corberan has his side firmly in the promotion race.

It’s unclear where the Baggies would turn to should the worst happen and Corberan did leave for Leicester, having seen the Spaniard take them from the Championship’s relegation zone to its play-offs.

Reaching the top six will remain the ultimate goal for Shilen Patel regardless of the decision Corberan makes in the coming weeks, but Albion’s owner will be hoping he decides to stay put until season’s end.
