Ex-West Brom star nominated for The Best FIFA Men’s 11 award
Former West Brom striker Solomon Rondon has been nominated for The Best FIFA Men’s 11 award with Mexican side Pachuca.
The Venezuela international featured across three seasons for the Baggies between 2015 and 2018, now playing in the Liga MX in Mexico.
Across two years and 44 appearances in North America, the 35-year-old has netted 25 goals and has now been nominated in the voting for FIFA’s Best Men’s 11 award as an attacker.
The ex-Albion striker finds himself in good company, featuring in the voting alongside the likes of Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

It will be a shock to many Baggies fans that the Venezuelan is still playing given how long ago it feels like he was playing in the West Midlands.
So much has changed at The Hawthorns with Premier League football being traded for the Championship being the biggest difference from the striker’s departure to now.
Despite never being the most consistent forward during his spell with Albion, there was plenty to admire about his spell with the club. Not many players can boast a hattrick of headers.
As a result, the vast majority of supporters will be pleased to see the striker doing well to the point where he is being nominated for the biggest and best awards.

Seeing Rondon pop up in the nominations alongside the best names in the game was certainly a surprise but is representative of a positive spell playing in Mexico.
The ex-West Brom man will be counting on votes in the hopes of beating Vinicus Jr, Harry Kane and Lamine Yamal to a spot in the Best Men’s 11.
