West Brom fans shocked by Carlos Corberan news – ‘Never forgive him’

West Brom fans were left baffled after a report linking Carlos Corberan with a switch to local rivals Wolves.

The Baggies are currently seventh in the Championship with the fanbase divided on whether the Spaniard should still be in the dugout after winning just one of their last 11 matches.

Their Premier League rivals could be without a manager if Gary O’Neil fails to beat West Ham on Monday (9 December) and a report from Italian journalist Matteo Moretto claimed that Corberan is top of their shortlist if that happens.

Corberan departure splits West Brom fans

A move to the Molineux is unfathomable to some Albion supporters, with one fan account writing on X: “If Carlos goes I will never forgive him.”

Another commented: “This just doesn’t happen – can’t remember the last time a player or manager directly went one way or the other.”

It is not the first time that Corberan has been linked with a move away from The Hawthorns, he was recently linked with the Leicester vacancy before Ruud van Nistelrooy was appointed.

The work that the former Olympiakos man has done in the Midlands has not gone unnoticed by bigger clubs, he turned the Baggies into a play-off contender from relegation strugglers.

However, he is under pressure due to a run of nine draws in ten games and the speculation around his future will not have done any favours.

The club must do all they can to keep Corberan in the dugout, especially with local rivals sniffing around.

In other West Brom news, one Albion star could be set for a £16 million exit from The Hawthorns.
