Carlos Corberan needs to axe West Brom man, he’s costing them promotion

West Brom have struggled for form in recent weeks and the lacklustre performances of Jed Wallace have contributed far too much.

The Baggies’ recent 2-1 defeat against Watford was another frustration for a side that has won just three of their last 16 Championship encounters.

A lack of creativity has haunted West Brom in a season in which they were tipped for a top-two finish but those hopes seem to have diminished with their lack of form.

Wallace has featured 15 times under Carlos Corberan but his inclusion is costing West Brom a chance of promotion and he needs to be binned.

Jed Wallace is having a disaster of a season for West Brom

While there are several attacking players underperforming at the Hawthorns, none have offered as little as Wallace.

According to FotMob, Wallace has registered an embarrassing 0.14 xA (expected assists) in 315 minutes having created just three chances in his 15 appearances.

His 77 completed passes are matched with a 77 per cent pass accuracy with just one attempted long pass reaching the desired destination. That leaves him with a woeful 14.3 per cent long-ball accuracy.

While that completion rate is worrying, it is even worse when it comes to his crossing ability. A 9.1 per cent accuracy has been on show in the Championship this season with just one reaching the target.

His passing stats are about as bad as they can get but he has failed to offer any kind of defensive support either. Just 34.5 per cent of the duels he has been involved in resulted in West Brom coming away with the ball.

Wallace is hampering the hopes that the Baggies have of achieving promotion and his continued inclusion needs to be under deep consideration.
