West Brom cult hero officially hired as manager of West Midlands club
West Brom cult hero Richard Sneekes has been appointed as the manager of Rushall Olympic.
The Dutchman has been in interim charge at the West Midlands club since 1 December, when Adam Stevens departed but the club announced on X [18 December] that he has now been given the role on a permanent basis.
The 56-year-old made 227 appearances for the Baggies and will be joined by another former Albion man in his coaching staff with Sam Mantom continuing his role as a player-coach with the Pics.
Good to see former West Brom players back in the Midlands
Sneekes returns to Rushall after two years in the dugout between May 2014 and May 2016 when he won the Staffordshire Senior Cup in his second season.
In his time in interim charge of the Pics, his side have lost all three matches, including a 7-0 hammering by South Shields.
The Dutchman faces a big challenge with the club rooted to the bottom of the National League North after 21 games but he overcame a similar predicament at Sutton Coldfield Town, ensuring survival on the final day of the season.

Former Baggies academy graduate Mantom is set to continue as a player alongside his coaching duties.
Vice Chairman Nick Allen said: “They bring a local feel, an understanding of our squad and the DNA of our club and are best-placed for the extremely difficult challenge we face.”
It is nice to have some familiar faces back in the Midlands.
