West Brom in bid to terminate Uros Racic loan deal early
West Brom are looking to terminate Uros Racic’s loan deal at the Hawthorns early ahead of the January transfer window, according to DOOD.
The defensive midfielder joined the club on loan from Sassuolo at the start of the campaign but has struggled to solidify his spot in Carlos Corberan’s starting line-up.
The 27-year-old has started just eight of the 17 games he’s played this season and despite getting two assists on the board, he has struggled to show anything that has convinced his manager.
As a result, the West Brom insider DOOD have reported that an exit is on the cards after posting on X: “West Brom looking at options to send Dobbin and Račić back in January if possible.
“Priority would turn to a striker to help take the burden of Maja, who hasn’t been able to be rested for any games due to lack of options.”
Uros Racic could leave West Brom in January
It looks as though the Baggies are ready to terminate Racic’s deal at the Hawthorns and terminate the loan move to prioritise different positions in the team instead.
Corberan has his side in a solid position as they sit eight in the table, two points away from the play-off spots. Therefore, the Spaniard will know what he needs to do to get his side back into the top six in the second half of the campaign.
Although they have been picking up steady points, the Baggies have got themselves into a rut of drawing games of late which has taken its toll, seeing them starting to slip down the table. With this in mind, it’s not surprising that the boss is keen to get attacking reinforcements in the side in the hope of converting some draws into wins.
While Racic hasn’t been poor during his loan spell, he has also struggled to show the Hawthorns enough of what he can do to make him a convincing player in the starting line-up and with the likes of Jayson Molumby and Alex Mowatt in the squad, he is not necessarily needed.
