West Brom v Bristol City prediction made amid ‘Amazing’ admission
West Brom will come out on top against Bristol City in the Championship on Sunday afternoon, according to David Prutton.
Albion are two games without a draw in the league having been the point specialists so far this season, and will look to respond to last weekend’s defeat by Watford [15 December].
The eighth-placed Baggies take on an unpredictable Robins side at The Hawthorns, as Prutton believes a single goal will do the trick for linked-away Carlos Corberan’s side in their last outing before Christmas [21 December].
“An unbeaten run that had 10 draws in it, absolutely amazing,” the pundit told Sky Sports’ Essential EFL podcast [19 December, 14:13].
He later added: “At The Hawthorns, I’m going to go for a Baggies win, 1-0.”
West Brom aim for winning return v Bristol City
West Brom have been unique in their draw habit this season which has sometimes suited them away from home, but Corberan will believe in his side to beat anyone at The Hawthorns.
The frustration lies when opponents visit the West Midlands and are content with a point, which Liam Manning’s Bristol City – currently 11th with a goal difference of zero in an entirely balanced record – could well be.
Last weekend’s loss to Watford skipped the Hornets above the Baggies into seventh, and while the play-offs are still only two points away, the fact remains that Corberan’s men have won just two in 15 since September (drawing 10).

Saturday provides ample opportunity to get points and while the visitors should be far from underestimated, the last two fixtures of 2024 come on the road.
Derby County are the hosts on Boxing Day with a 4-0 win in their last home contest against Portsmouth, while league leaders Sheffield United provide the final test of the calendar year at Bramall Lane.
