Everton could move for West Brom ace Tom Fellows after developments this week
West Brom ace Tom Fellows could be the subject of a January transfer approach from Everton after Dan Friedkin’s takeover, Guy Havord has speculated.
Speaking during Albion’s 2-0 win over Bristol City (22 December, 3:40pm), the Sky Sports commentator said that after being interested in Fellows last summer, a newly-monied Everton could return in January.
Fellows was the target of approaches late in the summer window with Everton among others baulking at the Baggies’ £15million valuation [TEAMtalk, 29 August].
Havord said: “He will be, I’m sure, one of those looked at during the January window. Everton were, by all accounts, sniffing around in the summer.
“Everton under new ownership of course now will look to strengthen their squad – (and) will have a bigger budget you would imagine. Tom Fellows, I think most would agree, is certainly one for the future.”
Tom Fellows exit could come sooner than expected for West Brom
Fellows’ superb start to the campaign, coupled with him coming through the ranks at The Hawthorns, makes him a favourite of the Albion faithful and a player not one supporter wants to lose.
However, given the Baggies have been told to expect a bumpy road ahead in terms of PSR, selling a valuable asset such as Fellows for an eight-figure fee would certainly be a financial helping hand.

It’ll take at least £10m to get Fellows out of The Hawthorns for any side interested, with a bid of that exact amount from Southampton being rejected by the club in late August [DOOD, 27 August].
On what we’ve seen so far this season, though, Southampton look a dead-cert to join, or be replaced by, Albion in the Championship next season, making such a move a non-starter from Fellows’ perspective.
Everton, however, are a different animal with Dan Friedkin at the helm, and if they are willing to shell out over £15m in his first transfer window next month, don’t be surprised to see them circling the Baggies’ 21-year-old superstar.
In other West Brom news, Albion fans were left in a panic after one of Fellows’ team-mates was nowhere to be seen against Bristol.
