Jayson Molumby contract update emerges at West Brom

Conversations over the future of Jayson Molumby at West Brom are set to begin in January, according to DOOD.

The West Brom news source reported on X (22 December) that discussions will be taking place in the New Year as the midfielder reaches the end of his current contract in the summer.

The 25-year-old has been a regular in Carlos Corberan’s side this season with 19 appearances, 15 of which were in the starting line-up, scoring two goals along the way.

West Brom should offer Jayson Molumby a new deal

Molumby has been a solid part of Corberan’s squad this season and if there is the change to keep hold of the midfielder then it’s one the Baggies should be looking to take.

The Republic of Ireland international is a solid performer, albeit with a fiery temper, and the kind of player a manager can depend on – especially when going for the play-offs.

Corberan is clearly fond of the midfielder, who is trusted regularly and therefore you can imagine that he will be keen to keep him on board even if the Baggies achieve their aims of gaining promotion to the top flight.

Albion need to build off their win against Bristol City on Sunday [22 December] and Molumby should be keen to keep on proving himself throughout the campaign. However, supporters will surely be glad to hear that the club are looking forward now to secure their regular players before they become free agents.

In other West Brom news the Baggies have been warned that more PSR issues are still to come.
