Corberan says ‘yes’ to West Brom exit, two-and-half-year deal offered

West Brom manager Carlos Corberan has already said “yes” to a move to La Liga side Valencia, according to Diario AS.

The Spanish outlet reported via their website (23 December) that the Baggies boss would “love” to make the move to Los Ches despite the hardships they currently find themselves in.

Valencia have even gone as far as offering the Spaniard a two-and-a-half-year deal in order to try and acquire his services.

West Brom can’t allow Carlos Corberan to leave The Hawthorns

Although West Brom could get a decent chunk of money from Valencia for ending his contract with the Baggies early, it doesn’t feel like it’s enough to lose Corberan.

The Spaniard has turned things around at West Brom dramatically and has reinvigorated a team when they were at one of their lowest points.

His tactical style, alongside his man management and the way his team plays games, have all become synonymous with the Baggies during his time at The Hawthorns and, even though there will no doubt be plenty of candidates lining up to make the move to the Black Country club, you feel like any successor would be underwhemling.

At the moment, nothing is yet set in stone but with the way that the story has progressed, it feels like the Spaniard is edging closer to an exit, which is a far from ideal situation for the Baggies to be in.

Only time will tell what the future holds but if Shilen Patel can somehow keep the Spaniard in his role, that would no doubt be the best outcome for Corberan’s men and their fanbase.

In other West Brom news, the Baggies have received an “early Christmas gift” as two injured players returned to full training on Monday.
