Shilen Patel told to bring Matheus Pereira back to West Brom as image circulates

West Brom supporters have told Shilen Patel to bring Matheus Pereira back to The Hawthorns after the circulation of an image of him at the Bristol City clash.

The Baggies got back to winning ways on Sunday [22 December] as they overcame Bristol City with a dominant display to win 2-0.

Among the supporters at The Hawthorns for the final home game of 2024 was former player Pereira, who was pictured in the stands [@talkwba via X, 23 December].

Matheus Pereira still popular at West Brom

Despite only spending two seasons with Albion, the attacking player was so impactful during his time that he certainly left his mark on the supporters in the Black Country.

His return over the weekend set off emotions in supporters again, too, with one posting “welcome home” to the player on X.

The now 28-year-old’s time at The Hawthorns didn’t end on the best of terms under former manager Valerien Ismael.

However, supporters still hold the player in high regard and why wouldn’t they after all of the incredible performances he delivered for the Baggies.

It’s nice to see that he still takes an interest in the club, and that shows how much of an impact the Albion supporters had on the player with a mutual love being there.

Unfortunately for Carlos Corberan, it’s unlikely the Brazilian will ever make the return so supporters will be left to imagine how much of a boost they’d be given in their promotion push if it did happen.

In other West Brom news, Alan Pardew reacted to the appointment of the new Southampton manager after Carlos Corberan links with the job.
