West Brom board blamed by ex-Baggies star amid Carlos Corberan exit news
Darren Carter has blamed the West Brom board for not backing Carlos Corberan ahead of his departure to Valencia.
The Spaniard looks set to move on from The Hawthorns after the La Liga outfit triggered his release clause of £2.8million [Fabrizio Romano].
This will bring to an end a two-year spell in the West Midlands for the 41-year-old who has been hampered financially during this period.
Former Baggies midfielder Carter has slammed the Albion hierarchy on BBC Radio WM (24 December) for failing to back the ex-Olympiakos boss.
He said: “To be in and around the play-offs with, not the biggest squad or resources, you just wanted the club to give him some indication that they are going to back him at some point or have the resources to kick the club on because he’s clearly got the skills to do that.

It has been far from a dream period off the pitch in B71 as finances have caused problems which have been tough to overcome.
Shilen Patel has come in and worked well to help right some of the wrongs by the previous regime but ultimately hasn’t been enough.
In the last transfer window, the Baggies made just three signings with a transfer fee while also bringing in another seven players on loan or free transfers.
Corberan has certainly helped to get the best out of these players so far this campaign but now looks set to be on the move to Valencia.

It is a move that is nearly impossible for him to turn down but if Albion had backed him and been able to spend in the transfer market, the decision to leave may have been more difficult.
Ultimately it wasn’t possible and now the hierarchy have a decision to make in the dugout and needs to do so as quickly as possible.
In other West Brom news, Russell Martin is on the potential manager list with Carlos Corberan’s exit imminent.
