Andrew Nestor sends public message to West Brom staff amid new manager hire news

West Brom staff have been thanked by Andrew Nestor in a public social media post as the Baggies continue their managerial search.

Nestor shared a statement on X [26 December] to thank all the staff at The Hawthorns who have worked tirelessly over a busy festive schedule, “putting in the hours” to help keep Albion on the right track.

The board including Nestor and Shilen Patel are in the process of finding a crucial next appointment to lead the team, following Carlos Corberan’s switch to Valencia over Christmas, and several of his staff following suit.

“The festive period is always guaranteed to be busy,” the sporting director posted.

“Everyone is putting in the hours and I want to let all the Albion staff and their families know how much I appreciate them continuing to work through the holidays. COYB.”

West Brom search continues as board work tirelessly

A managerial recruitment drive over the summer months is difficult enough; during the Christmas and New Year period is a minefield.

Not only are there a premium of available managers and many only accessible via hefty compensation packages, there also comes a barrage of Championship games – soon added to by the FA Cup.

Chris Brunt took charge away at Derby County on Boxing Day as life after Corberan began, Albion going down 2-1 at Pride Park as the former winger made one change to his starting XI.

Corberan himself had evidently been frustrated at times with the departures of several players, the club’s operation in the transfer market with one hand tied behind their back and the subsequent inability to gather a succession of wins together.

January will be an interesting time at The Hawthorns in more ways than one, with Nestor knowing full well the pressure of his first process of its kind in English football since his arrival.

In other West Brom news, a Liverpool coach has now emerged as the bookies’ favourite to succeed Corberan in a major twist.
