Molumby will be petrified of who’s been namechecked in West Brom manager race

Jayson Molumby will be keeping a close eye on who could be the man to fill Carlos Corberan’s boots at West Brom.

The 25-year-old has been somewhat of a regular figure in the Baggies’ starting XI since joining on a permanent deal in 2022 but that could all be about to change.

He has started 15 of the Baggies’ 23 league matches so far this term, sometimes switching places with Uros Racic, though he could be returning to Sassuolo once the January window opens [DOOD].

While that can only be seen as good news for the Republic of Ireland international, his future at The Hawthorns could now depend on who becomes the new head coach.

Before making the permanent switch to the Midlands, Molumby had graduated from Brighton’s academy and was attempting to break into the first team on the coast.

Jayson Molumby to fear Graham Potter appointment at West Brom

He was sent out on loan several times during his time at the American Express Stadium, making just five senior appearances for the Seagulls in that time, before finally sealing a permanent move to West Brom.

Brighton finally found a permanent destination for the midfielder in 2022. And who was in charge of the Seagulls at the time of his exit? That’s right – Graham Potter.

According to the Express and Star’s Jonny Drury, the former Chelsea boss is likely to be linked with the Baggies job, and fans at The Hawthorns have already called for the appointment to be made.

Speaking exclusively to West Brom News, Dom Goodman also believes Potter could have love in his heart for the Albion, but a move would be “unrealistic”.

Molumby will likely be hoping for the latter, given their history together. But if Potter is the man to replace Corberan, fans may have to accept a couple of big names leaving.

In other West Brom news, Grady Diangana’s future at The Hawthorns is now uncertain after what has happened recently.
