West Brom new manager: Ex-Champions League boss favourite with two bookies
Igor Tudor is one of the strong favourites to be appointed as West Brom manager, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
The Baggies have been urged to appoint Liverpool coach John Heitinga, who is currently the 5/2 favourite with BetVictor.
However, it appears as though 46-year-old Tudor is also emerging as a strong candidate to take over from Carlos Corberan at The Hawthorns.
Both Ladbrokes and Coral have the Croatian, who once managed Marseille in the Champions League, as a 3/1 favourite to become the next West Brom manager.
Igor Tudor to succeed Carlos Corberan at West Brom?
There are some big names in the running to take over at The Hawthorns, including the likes of Steven Gerrard, John Terry and David Moyes.
However, while Tudor isn’t such a flashy name, and some fans might feel slightly underwhelmed, he could be the smart choice for Shilen Patel to make.
The chairman has proven popular thus far since arriving at The Hawthorns. However, this is his first managerial appointment and arguably the biggest decision he has had to make so far during his stay in the Black Country.
Therefore, he must get this right, especially after Corberan’s largely successful spell in charge, and while picking a familiar name might feel like the safest option, it could also backfire.

Plenty of big-name managers have moved to clubs and failed to live up to the expectations. As a result, appointing someone such as Tudor, who has experience with big clubs such as Marseille and Lazio – albeit for short amounts of time – but isn’t such a household name, could be the wise decision.
He would arrive at The Hawthorns with lower expectations of him, which could allow him to thrive with less pressure on his shoulders.
